If you’ve ever wondered if an actual fairy-tale town existed, then wonder no more!
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is an actual town that exists in Germany and it’s filled to the brim with all the beautiful, lovely little things that live within your fairy-tale dreams.
Not only is this town something out of a dreamland, it is also most commonly recognized as one of the best medieval towns in Germany. Check out my other post from our last visit, specifically to the torture museum.
This visit, we decided to settled in for The Night Watchman’s Tour at 8 o’clock on the dot with Hans Georg Baumgartner and he did not disappoint. If I remember correctly, it was about 8 euro per adult and children under 12 were free. You don’t pay beforehand as he relies solely on the honor-system, and so he accepts your cash only payment at the end of the tour.
The tour (yes, in English!) lasted about an hour and was filled with great detail and witty humor, the perfect combination for a guided history walk around this dreamy picturesque town.
Check out this little snippet I took of The Night Watchman:
